James was called to his heavenly home on Friday, September 23, 2022, at the age of 90. He resided in Baton Rouge, Louisiana his entire life. Upon his retirement from Dow Chemical, he began a new career in marketing for the Louisiana Lottery. He was one of the first ones to be employed at the Louisiana Lottery and worked there up until he was 86 years old. James could be described as a modest and quite man who prided himself with his family. He was a very proud and accomplished artist. When he wasn’t painting he could be found being a handy man around the house doing many projects. He enjoyed helping people and would do anything if you asked him to. James was a wonderful and loving husband, father, and grandfather, who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his daughter, Sue Cutrer Miller; brothers, Wally Cutrer (Wanda), Bob Cutrer (Toni), Gerry Cutrer; sisters, Judy Hoover, Beverly Turner, Mary Ann Passons (Delma); grandchildren, Gregory A. Miller, Amy Pfrimmer, Ross A. Miller, and Maria Miller Earle; sister-in-law, Connie Cutrer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
James is preceded in death by his loving wife, Martha Dunn Cutrer; son, Clay Dunn Cutrer; brother, Ronald Cutrer; parents, Virgil and Menee Cutrer; son-in-law, Ralph R. Miller; in-laws, Elmo and Sue Dunn; and his very best friend, his dog, Buddy.
The family, especially Sue,would like to Extend heartfelt thanks to his special “Friends” and caregivers Pat Dardenne and Catherine (Cat) Charleston. You were Angels that God placed in our lives. Also, a special thank you to Clarity Hospice who helped Dad spend his last days at home. What a blessing you all were to our lives.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Monday, September 26, 2022, held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, beginning at 1:00 pm until the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. The interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
