

James “Jim” Michael Graves, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA., majority of his life, passed away in Chipley, Florida on December 20, 2025, at the age of 72. Mr. Jim was born in Baton Rouge, LA., on January 8, 1953, to parents, Bishop Bascom Graves and Judy Graves Stuart “Nonnie”.
He was a graduate from Broadmoor High School and briefly attended LSU where he later went on to join the Baton Rouge Police Department and then joined Georgia Gulf where he provided 40 plus years of service.
Mr. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, doing handyman type work and loved woodworking.
He is survived by his sons, Brandon Graves (Tonni Lynn), Brent Graves, and Brad Graves (Kaelyn); grandchildren, Gatlin Grayson Graves, Aubrey Kate Graves, Breck Graves and Brixton Graves; brother, Glenn Power Graves and sister, Terri Johnson.
Preceded in death by his father, Bishop Bascom Graves and mother, Judy Graves Stuart “Nonnie”.
He will be remembered as an honest and hard worker, a perfectionist, resilient; our Hero, Strongest man ever and you are loved.
Visitation will take place at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA., on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, from 1:00pm until funeral service time of 2:00pm. Interment will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
