James Thomas (“Bubbie, Paw Paw”) Harold died on June 1, 2024, after a short illness at the age of 94. He was born in Port Allen, Louisiana, on October 15, 1929. Raised on Allendale Plantation, James lived most of his life in Baton Rouge. He was a graduate of Baton Rouge High School and a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from a career at Audubon Insurance Company. James was dedicated to his family. He enjoyed being outdoors, whether working in his garden, yard or workshop. He truly enjoyed retirement, particularly time spent at his camp at Lake Rosemound, attending work and family reunions, and visiting with friends and neighbors. But he most treasured his time with his family and, particularly, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He lived life to the fullest and will be missed. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Miriam Ann Harold; mother, Hazel Harold; sister, Laura Strickland; brother, Kenny Harold; and nieces, Rhonda Brown and Diane Shreve. He is survived by his son, Jim Harold and his wife, Darlene; daughter, Katie Andrishok and her husband, John; grandchildren, Mason Harold (Hannah) and Haleigh Bellelo (Greg), Austin Andrishok and Anna Katherine Andrishok; great-grandchildren, Hadley Ann Harold, Tate Thomas Bellelo and Piper Bukata; nieces, Brenda Brown, Mary Miley, Jodi Fryoux, Vikki Keller; nephews, Ken Harold and Clay Harold; and numerous cousins. Visitation followed by a funeral service will take place on Friday, June 7, beginning at 9:00 am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Austin Andrishok, Mason Harold, Greg Bellelo, Errol Lemoine, Carlton Trahan and Jonah Judice will serve as pallbearers. Special thank you to the doctors and staff at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital.
