Born June 25, 1942 in Bogalusa, Louisiana to CT and Ruby Houston. Married on July 17, 1965 to Cheryl B Houston. Raised in Bogalusa, LA, he moved to Baton Rouge, LA in 1960 to attend LSU and graduated in 1967, after which he and his wife remained in the area. He worked for the State of Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals for over 30 years while his wife worked as a CRNA. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 244 in Bogalusa, LA for over 50 years. He passed away on March 1, 2026 in the presence of his loved ones. He is survived by his wife Cheryl, his son James T Houston Jr and grandson William T Houston. He will be missed. A Graveside Service will be held at Sugartown Baptist Church, 1784 LA-113, Sugartown, LA 70662, on March 6, 2026, at 11:00 am.
