James "Jimmy" Brian Reno

As the owner of Insulation Sales & Service, Jimmy found immense happiness in finding solutions to high level challenges. He was committed to doing things the right way (his way) and to serving the needs of his customers and employees. As a result, he built strong relationships and friendships with many of his clients and business associates.

His greatest source of joy was his family. He was married to his wife, Benita Braswell Reno for 45 years. He was proud of his children, Ashley and Damon and daughter in law Kayla. His grandsons, Brooks and Hayes truly owned Jimmy’s heart and provided the source of his courage to battle through his health struggles for as long as he did.

He is survived by his sister, Tammi Reno Bourque. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vic and Dorothy Labatut Reno, and brother, VJ Reno.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his Doctors, Emily Cassidy, Vince Cataldo, Jingya Wang and Andre Bonnecaze as well as all the nurses, staff and fellow patients who shared time with him during his treatments at Mary Bird Perkins. He was blessed to have many close friends and relatives who sent cards, called, visited and texted to provide encouragement and support.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Oct. 9 at Istrouma Baptist Church in Baton Rouge from 10 am until funeral service at 12:00 pm. A private burial service will be held at Redwood Baptist Church in Slaughter. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Jimmy to Special Olympics Louisiana, Capital Area (LASO.org/memorials) or Istrouma Baptist Church Missions 10500 Sam Rushing Rd. Baton Rouge, LA 70816.
