
A retired fraud and recovery director at OFS, he died at 6:25 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice. He was 62, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Pulaski, Tenn. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Thursday, Jan. 13, was from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lakeland, on Friday, Jan. 14, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Andrew Merrick. Survived by his ex-wife, Patricia Loup Sanders; sons, Charles Bret Sanders, James Edward Sanders Jr., and Joseph Glynn Sanders and wife Amanda Rae Sanders; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Luther Johnson and Kathy and Tom Miller; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Ronald and Janelle Sanders, Don Sanders, Robert and Terri Sanders and David and Reba Sanders; and two grandchildren, Noah Joseph Sanders and Owen Michael Sanders. Preceded in death by his father and mother, Rex and Mattie Lou. He received a bachelor's degree from Northwestern State University and loved reading and spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.
