James W. "Jim" Meadows III, a native of St. Antonio and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2011, at age 77. Mr. Meadows was an Army veteran. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Tuesday, April 26, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from noon until funeral service in the chapel at 1 p.m. Burial in Roselawn Cemetery. Survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Foster Meadows; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Bo Bennett and Karen and Terry French; son and daughter-in-law, James M. and Lynelle Meadows; five grandchildren, Trey Bennett and wife Casey, Melissa Bennett, Angela Neff and husband Greg, Joshua Meadows and wife Hailey, and Lindsey Oosterveld and husband Tim; and great-grandchild, Gavyn Meadows. Also survived by his brothers, William T. and Robin Dale Meadows. Preceded in death by a grandchild, Erin Glaze; and parents. Mr. Meadows was quite an athlete and enjoyed sports and pleasure boating throughout his life.
