

A resident of Baton Rougesince 1989 and a former resident ofLake Jackson, Texas, Jane Stanton Cain died Saturday, March 24, 2007, at Ollie Steele Burden Manor. Visitation at St. Aloysius Catholic Church on Thursday, March 29, from 5 p.m.to 8 p.m.and on Friday from 9:30 a.m.until funeral Mass at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Gerald Burns, celebrant. Interment inResthavenGardensof Memory. She was 86, born Sept 9, 1920, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of Henry Lamb Stanton Sr. and Augusta Savage Stanton. She received a bachelor's of science degree in 1942 fromPennsylvaniaStateUniversity, where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. A faithful friend, she kept in touch with friends from across the United States and truly appreciated her many friends at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ on Old Hammond Highway, St. Aloysius Catholic Church and Ollie Steele Burden Manor. Survived by her two daughters, Carolyn "Candy" Cain Muse and husband Lovell of Baton Rouge, and Mary Cain Onxley ofCedar Park, Texas. Her grandchildren are Alan Muse and Lisa Robillard of Baton Rouge, Michael and Anita Harper Muse of The Woodlands, Texas, Laura and Brian Potts ofNew Braunfels, Texas, Jennifer Muse and fiancé Sam Davis of Houston, and Amy Onxley ofAustin, Texas. Her great-grandchildren are Erica Schulte Muse, Emily Stanton Muse and Ella Orene Muse, all of The Woodlands, and Morgan Sophia Potts and Casey Jordan Potts of New Braunfels. She is also survived by a niece, Henrietta Marsh Woodward of Honesdale, Pa.; and nephew, William "Bill" and wife Helen Marsh of Calabash, N.C. Preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 52 years, Joe Hilman Cain; brother, Henry Lamb Stanton Jr.; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia Stanton Marsh and William A. Marsh; and two nieces. The family is especially grateful to Ollie Steele Burden Manor and Dr. Patrick Gahan for the love and care she received.
