
Jane Crews Reynolds LeBlanc, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday September 29, 2014, surrounded by her beloved family. The daughter of the late Sarah Jane Gertrude Robertshaw and Sterling Crews Reynolds, she was born on January 5, 1925 in Caruthersville, Missouri. Upon graduation from Caruthersville High School, Jane, an accomplished musician, began her studies at Sophie Newcomb College where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Voice and Piano. She was also an award winning member of the Newcomb Fencing team, a talent she had cultivated while a camper at Camp Nagawicqua in Waukesha, Wisconsin. While at Newcomb, a blind date led to her introduction to the love of her life, her late husband William Hardee "Bill" LeBlanc, Jr. After graduation, Jane and Bill were married on July 18, 1946 and settled in Baton Rouge and began their life together. Jane was famous for the loving way that she spoiled her dear husband Bill. Together they created the happiest of homes and a wonderful life for themselves and their five children. Jane possessed a kind and gentle spirit and she loved her family and friends deeply and unconditionally, always putting the needs of others ahead of her own. A woman of strong faith, she was very active in her church and was always involved in all facets of her children's academic and spiritual upbringing. Jane-affectionately known as "Honey"-created for her family and friends a welcoming home filled with faith, love, laughter and an abundance of generous hospitality. She was a wonderful cook and gracious hostess who took true delight in welcoming guests into her home. Honey is survived by her children and their spouses W.H. "Trey" LeBlanc III(Janie),Crews Reynolds LeBlanc, Robert Douglas "Doug" LeBlanc (Kathy),John Michael "Mike" LeBlanc (Laura), Linda Jane LeBlanc Thompson (Scott) and her grandchildren Rachel LeBlanc Dews(Robert), Claire LeBlanc Crawford (Trey), William H. LeBlanc IV, Crews Reynolds LeBlanc, Jr., Emily LeBlanc Montalbano (Randy), Rebecca LeBlanc Jopling (Jordan), Robert Douglas LeBlanc, Jr.(Krista),William Kevin LeBlanc(Heather),Stacy LeBlanc Ghanami (Joe), Steven Crews LeBlanc, James Michael LeBlanc, Aaron Ashley LeBlanc Yorn (Se), Jeffrey Scott Thompson, Jr. and Sarah Jane Thompson. She is also survived by 18 beautiful great grandchildren and a dear family friend whom she loved and regarded as her fifth son, Johnny Feig, as well as her sister in laws Shirley Wolf LeBlanc (V. Price LeBlanc) and Marion Hart LeBlanc and numerous nieces and nephews. Two of Honey's special angels were Simone Galatoire Nugent and Jeanne Curet James. Honey was so blessed by her wonderful and devoted caregivers ...her best friend Geraldine Franklin, Lee Arthur Gray, Sr., Bertha Mae Johnson and Mary Davis. In addition to her husband and parents, Jane was preceded in death by her beloved sister Ethelinda Reynolds and her brothers in law and sisters in law Marion LeBlanc LaPlace (Colby), Mary Ada LeBlanc Williams (George), V, Price LeBlanc, and Gordon S. LeBlanc. Visitation will be held on Wednesday October 1, 2014 from 5:00pm until 7:30pm at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and on Thursday October 2, 2014 from 9:00am until 10:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am celebrated by Father Cleo Milano. Pallbearers will be her seven grandsons: William LeBlanc, Reynolds LeBlanc, Robby LeBlanc, Kevin LeBlanc, Steven LeBlanc, James LeBlanc, and Jeffrey Thompson. Interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Cemetery.
