
Janet Peroyea May, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of New Orleans, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at her home in Baton Rouge. She was 67. Mrs. May was a former librarian at St. Joseph's Academy and a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Thursday, Jan. 12, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visitation resumes in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, New Orleans, on Friday, Jan. 13, from 10 a.m. until Mass at 11 a.m. Entombment in Metairie Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Jack May; three children, C. Taylor Walet III and wife Jennifer, Jan Walet Keller and husband Nolan and John David May and wife Nikki; sister, Susan P. Gullett and husband Ray; two brothers, Robert C. Grace and wife Marilyn and John L. Peroyea II and wife Stephanie; and nine grandchildren, Jordyn, Taylor, Tommy, Parker Hunt, Parker Hayes, Shelby, Rachel, Finley and Rex. She was preceded in death by her parents, John L. Peroyea and Dorothy Little Peroyea; grandmother, Leta Belle Little; sister, Barbara McCrea; and a daughter, Julie Anne Poyadou. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
