

Janey was a native of Baton Rouge, and a resident of Sulphur, La., she passed away Monday April 16, 2012 at the Promise Rehabilitation Hospital, in Baton Rouge. Janey was born March 3, 1927. She was a graduate of Baker High School, where she was a Drum Majorette, and Valedictorian; she was also a member of the LSU Marching Band. Janey retired after 35 years with the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board, as a school bus driver. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She taught Sunday School for many years, and was active in the Women Missionary Union at Brownsfield Baptist Church. Janey will be remembered for her devotion to her Lord and Savior, and love of her family and friends. Janey is survived by her husband Jack Coontz, of Sulphur, two granddaughters Kaci C. Calvaresi and husband Chad, of Virginia and Kali Crenshaw; five great grandchildren Kira Noelle and, Chase Anthony Thomas Calvaresi, Thomas Evan Byers, Seth Joseph and Sofija Bea Calvaresi; three step-children David and Bobby Coontz, both of Sulphur, and Missy Coontz, of Oklahoma; three sisters Betty M. Graves, Joy M. Jenkins and husband Marshall, all of Baton Rouge and Peggy M. Hayes and husband Jimmy, of Huntsville, Ala., brother Emmitt McAdams and wife Deborah, of Baker; a host of nieces and nephews. Janey was preceded in death by her first husband Thomas Bagot, daughter Suzi Bagot, parents T.S. Sr., and Beatrice McAdams, brother T.S. McAdams Jr., two sisters Norrie Lee Tucker and Abbie M. Kennedy, nephew Terry McAdams. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. on Friday April 20, 2012 from 5pm to 8pm. Visiting continues at the funeral home on Saturday April 21, 2012 from 10am till service time at 12pm. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
