
Mrs. Edward C. (Janice) Narozniak was 83 and had been a resident of Baton Rouge for 50 years. Born Janice Andrews in Brunswick, Ga., she passed away peacefully at 5:55 a.m. Thursday, April 15, 2010, at the Butterfly Wing of Hospice of Baton Rouge. Her loving husband of 66 years, Eddie, survives her. Survivors also include a son, Eddie and wife Carol Ann, of Paducah, Ky.; daughter, Donna and husband Paul Eventoff, of Los Angeles; granddaughters, Conley Narozniak, of Athens, Ga., Lauren Narozniak, of New York City, and Malaika Zweig, of Los Angeles; and stepgranddaughters, Missy and husband Carl Watts, of Olympia, Wash., and Molly and husband George Davis, of Atlanta. Her nieces and nephews include Fred and Elaine Schultz, Luke and Joanne Iovine, Anita and Rick Reeves, Roseanne Weeden, Frankie and Susan Radosti, Barbara and Al Baca, Michael Smith, Michael and Lisa Narozniak, Angela and Bill Misee, Amy and Mike Bailey, Allison and Jeff Pearson, and Heather Andrews. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Jackie Andrews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Carlton Andrews; and her parents, John and Lucille Andrews. Her aunt, Lillian Browning, lives in Brunswick. Her cousins include C.A. and Beth Morrison, Asbury and Mary Ann Teasley, Howard and Rose Browning, Carolyn Brandt, Billy Jean Browning, and Barbara Jean Andrews. Jan was a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church, the Faith Sunday School Class and Saints Alive Choir. She was a Realtor with C.J. Brown Realty Co. and Reynolds, Sumrow and Scruggs. She was a member of the Baton Rouge Board of Realtors and received the honor of Most Outstanding Realtor Associate of the Year in 1976. She was an avid bridge player. She and her husband, Eddie, loved to dance and were past presidents of Big Timer's Dance Club and Starlighters Dance Club. They also belonged to the Silver Strutters, Frolickers, and Entre Nous Social Club. They were past members of Fairwood Country Club. Jan was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Sunday, April 18, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services at Broadmoor United Methodist Church, 10230 Mollylea Drive, on Monday, April 19, with visitation from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Kenneth Carroll, the Rev. Lee Allen and the Rev. Ginny Allen will officiate the celebration of Jan's life. The family wishes to thank Dr. Deborah Abernathy, Dr. Gerald Miletello and the entire staff at the Hematology Oncology Clinic, Dr. Mark Kantrow, all the nurses and staff on the 5th floor at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and the nurses and caregivers at the Butterfly Wing at the Hospice of Baton Rouge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Broadmoor United Methodist Church, Hospice of Baton Rouge or to your favorite charity.
