Jared Chase Downey

Jared Chase Downey passed away Friday, August 21, 2026, at the age of 21. He was born on March 1, 2005, in Baton Rouge, LA. Jared was an amazing, caring, smart, and above all humorous person, no matter where he was. Any room Jared entered lit up with smiles and roared with laughter. He lived with no fear, and he was a true daredevil. He loved working on cars and playing the game. Jared was ecstatic to be a father, and he was a true family man. Jared is survived by his mother, Lorena “Darla” Rodriguez; sister, Haylie Downey; brothers, Alan Downey and Derrick Rodriguez; grandparents, Ken and Barbara Garrow; girlfriend, Jada Freeman and unborn baby, Josiah Chase Downey; aunts, Lauren and Amy Downey; uncles, Jesse Wyatt, Eric Downey, and Jonathan Wilson; nephew, Kaisen Jeanpierre; niece, Paesley Rodriguez; and a host of other loving family members and friends. Jared is preceded in death by his father, Kelly Downey, Sr.; grandmother, Cheryl Downey; uncle, Richard Wyatt; and aunt, Cherie Lalonde. There will be private services and burial for the family at a later date.
