
A lifelong resident of St. Amant and a retired St. Amant Elementary School custodian, she died at 3:50 p.m.on Friday, March 2, 2007, at Promise Healthcare in Gonzales at the age of 71. Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Highway, Gonzales, was on Sunday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 44450 La. 429, St. Amant, on Monday from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. celebrated by the Rev. Jon C. Koehler. Entombment will follow in the church mausoleum. She is survived by devoted husband and friend of 52 years, Murphy John Gautreau; four loving children and their spouses, Kathy G. and Johnny Robinson, Karen G. and Anthony Polito, Karla G. and David Ducote, and Murphy Jr. "Packy" and Adair Gautreau; two brothers and their spouses, Henry Allen and Linda Savoy, and Carl Hoyt and Judy Savoy; 12 grandchildren, Jeremy Robinson and wife Christen, Jessie Robinson and wife Kaci and Jodi Robinson, Paul, Chad and Aimee Polito, Jenifer Ducote LeBourgeois and husband Damien, Janene, Joseph and Jordan Ducote, Emily and Owen Richard; four great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Jenna Robinson, Brody LeBourgeois and Wesley Robinson; a brother-in-law, Jerry G. Babin; sister-in-law, Dorothy Savoy Hotard; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester Joseph Savoy and Natalie Hannah Savoy; three brothers, John Olin "Buddy" Savoy, Lester John Savoy Jr. and infant brother, John Ellis Savoy; five sisters, Frances Savoy Gautreau, Dorothy Savoy Moody, Mary Lou Savoy Babin and two infant sisters, Mary Edith Savoy and Frances Earnie Savoy; and a grandson, James Patrick Ducote. She was a Eucharistic minister and an active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church for 71 years. Jeanette's family wants to thank Dr. John Fraiche, the staffs of Promise Healthcare andSt.ElizabethHospitaland her many special friends and family for their prayers and support during her illness. A true servant of God, she lived her life by faith and love, and deeply touched everyone she met. She will be dearly missed.
