Jeffery Clark Swarner

Jeffery Clark Swarner, Sr., age 59, resided in Clinton, LA. He was born on April 18, 1962 in Honolulu, Hawaii, after his father received orders to be stationed at Kaneohe Bay Marine Corp Air Station. We were blessed to be able to live there for three years during the Vietnam War. His brother Joey was born in Hawaii two years later. Jeff passed away unexpectedly after a short illness, surrounded by his loving, caring family. He went home peacefully to be with his earthly father and our Lord and Savior that he loved so much. Jeff was a member of Healing Place Church in Saint Francisville, a welder for many years, and owner of Sideline Welding. He worked very hard and valued his livelihood, enjoyed riding motorcycles and was an avid Ham Radio Operator KG5NLQ. He attended Chamberlain-Hunt Academy 1976/77 and graduated Glen Oaks High School in 1980. Jeff was looking forward to life with a new job and a new girlfriend. He will be greatly missed by his special friend Wanda Frye and his many other friends, relatives, co-workers and those he helped during his journey through life. He is survived by son, Jeffery Swarner, Jr. (Elizabeth); son, Jacob Swarner and precious granddaughter (Olive) of Baton Rouge; mother, Patricia Dobson Swarner Van Hooser (Ron Van Hooser) of Clinton, LA; brother, Joey Swarner (Justine) and nephews Dex, Jace, and Blake of Zachary; and uncle, Kenneth Dobson of Baton Rouge. Other relatives around Baton Rouge and in other states are too numerous to mention. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Hiram Clark “Corky” Swarner; grandmother, Sallie Swarner Robinson; and uncle, Russell Swarner. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East (11000 Florida Blvd) on Wednesday, August 25 at 2 pm, followed by a memorial service at 4, conducted by Pastor Timmy Straight of Healing Place Church in St. Francisville. A private family burial will take place in the Swarner family plot at Roselawn Memorial Park.
