
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to many. After a seven-year battle with cancer, she died at 1:50 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at home with her husband and children by her side. A resident of Baton Rouge, she was 61, a native of Krotz Springs and retired as a swing manager from the McDonald's on Greenwell Springs Road after 26 years of service. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Friday, July 24, was from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Religious service at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Krotz Springs, at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 25, conducted by the Rev. Mark LeDoux. Graveside services immediately following in the church cemetery. Survived by her husband of 42 years, Thomas Adams Sr.; a daughter, Tara Adams Gerhardt and her husband, Joey; two sons, Ted Adams and his wife, Kate, and Trent Adams and his wife, Michelle; three sisters, Monita Reed, Barbara Murray, and Tina Fremin; two brothers, Barry and Kevin Reed; and five grandchildren, Lauren Adams, Colin and Brennan Roy, and Patrick and Allison Adams. Preceded in death by a son, Lance Cpl. Thomas "Tommy" Adams, U.S. Marine Corps; parents, Horace and Florence Reed; and a brother, Ralph Reed. Pallbearers will be Barry Reed, Kevin Reed, John Murray, Mike Murray, Philip Fremin and Philip Fremin II. She was loved by many and her conversation will be greatly missed.
