Jerry was born January 1, 1936, in Bordelonville, Louisiana, and had been a resident of Baton Rouge since 1971. A graduate of Louisiana State University, he proudly served his country as a United States Army officer for 28 years, including service in Vietnam. He was awarded two Legions of Merit, along with numerous other military honors. He later retired as Deputy Secretary-Treasurer of the Teachers’ Retirement System of Louisiana.
Jerry loved his country, his Catholic faith, his Bordelonville roots, LSU athletics, and, above all, his family. Some of his greatest joys were preparing breakfast for his grandchildren and taking his grandson Patrick to LSU football and baseball games.
He is survived by his daughter, Renée McCoy and her husband, David; three grandchildren, Madeline, Patrick, and Evangeline "Evie" McCoy; his brother, Richard Juneau; his sister, Jane Armand and her husband, Wayne; his brother-in-law, Victor Belba and his wife, Sandy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betsy Belba Juneau, and his parents, Herbert and Lilla Juneau.
Jerry was a longtime parishioner of St. Jude Catholic Church, where he served as a lector, and was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus at St. Aloysius Catholic Church.

Visitation will be held at St. Aloysius Catholic Church beginning on Friday, September 25, 2026 at 10 AM, a Rosary will be prayed at 11 AM and a Funeral Mass will begin at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites memorial gifts to FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students) in support of his grandson Patrick McCoy’s missionary work at Hope College in Holland, Michigan. Patrick’s mission can be supported at focus.org/missionaries/patrick-mccoy/.
