

Jervais “Jeri, Our MeMe" Walsworth Day, born in Jonesboro and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016 at her home away from home on False River “The Happiest Days”. Jervais attended North Highlands and graduated from Istrouma High in 1948. She was a registered nurse and worked at Stubb Corporation then DOW Chemical until retirement in 1990. She may have retired from nursing, but she never retired from life. She enjoyed traveling, cooking for everyone, spending time with family and friends, especially her two greatest latest joys, Bre and Cam. A devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Jervais is survived by her husband of 64 years, Archie T. Day, Sr.; son, Archie “Scooter” T. Day, Jr. and wife Charlene “Tootie” Charlet Day; daughter, Debbie Day Maher and husband, Mike; granddaughter, Brooke Day; two great granddaughters, Brelee and Cambrie; adored sister, Marilyn Efferson; proud brother, Bill “Sonny” Walsworth and wife Suzy “FSIL”; sister’s in law, Maud Day and Velma Fischer; special nieces and nephew, Roger, Becky, Dana, and Sharon; and Michele Maddie. She is preceded in death by her parents, William C. Walsworth and Blanche W. Walsworth. The family would like to give a special thanks to Pinnacle Hospice for their amazing service, especially Amanda and Shannon. Pallbearers will be Billy Braswell, Dominique Maddie, Michael Meschke, Farrell Pocorello, Bruce Thompson and Ken Thompson. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 4, 2015 beginning at 11am until funeral service at 2pm. Interment will follow on the grounds of Greenoaks Memorial Park.
