
A resident of Zachary and a native of McGehee, Ark., he died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008. He was 77 and retired owner of Turner Sheet Metal in Zachary. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of Galilee Baptist Church in Zachary. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Tuesday, Feb. 12, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation resumes Wednesday from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 1 p.m. in the chapel. Interment in Roselawn Memorial Park. Survived by his wife of 55 years, Rose Turner; daughter, Beverly Turner Hodges; and twin granddaughters, Jessica and Jennifer Hodges, all of Zachary. Also survived by a brother, Joe Turner, of Livingston; and sister and brother-in-law, Mary Alice and Lionel Crowell, of Monroe. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Payne; father, Jesse Turner; mother and stepfather, Ola and Milton Lashley; brother, Forrest Leonard Turner; and sister, Betty Ann Willie. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Parker, Kyle Wells, Kerry Turner, Chris Turner, Brian Westmoreland and Grant Pourciau. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Kemp Amacker, Dr. David Rabalais and Dr. Clayton Brown.
