A native of the Springfieldarea and a resident of Greenwell Springs, he passed away Tuesday Nov. 21, 2006, at Ochsner Hospital of Baton Rouge. He was 90. Mr. Jones was a retired used car dealer, having owned and operated J.W. Jones Used Cars on Scenic Highway for more than 50 years. He is survived by his wife, Ruth McLaughlin Jones; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Lon E. Wiese; son and daughter-in-law, Davis and Sherida Jones; nine grandchildren, Jeffrey Wiese, Brian Wiese, Julie Wiese Hawkins, Monica Dinger, Christy Matthews, Dana Dauthier, Jessie Jones, Kala Jones and Clarice Jones; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and sister. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Thursday from 4 p.m.to 8 p.m.and on Friday from 11 a.m.until religious service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Jim Efferson. Interment inResthavenGardensof Memory.
