ADD A MEMORY

October 18, 2011

I just learned of Aunt Jewell's passing, and I wish to express my condolences to her family. The pictures bring back fond memories of the aunt of my childhood. She and her sisters are surely celebrating a joyful reunion in their heavenly reward.

I am also a former student of Mrs. Dean. I was in her class with Jason Latimer. I chuckled when I read "a fierce grammarian". Mrs. Dean is always a topic of disucssion when classmates gather as we did this weekend for our 25th reunion. I will never forget how to diagram a sentence. What a blessing we all had in Mrs. Dean.

To say Mrs. Dean was "a fierce grammarian" is the understatement of the year. As a former student (7th & 8th Grade Denham Jr. High), I think of her when my office mates bring documents to me to proofread. Her command of the English language is legendary among those of us who were blessed enough to be her students. I tell my children that I hope they are taught by a "Mrs. Dean" one day. They just don't make them like her anymore....

My prayers are with you and your family.

Regards,
Jason Latimer
