Jimmy Pringle Boles

Jimmy was a special person who took great pride in his life, his family, and his many accomplishments. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of South Carolina and went on to enjoy a long and successful career with Transco Energy Company, retiring after 29 years of dedicated service. His commitment to his profession continued throughout his life, and he achieved lifetime membership with the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Above all, Jimmy was a man of deep and abiding faith. He was a devoted member of Florida Boulevard Baptist Church, and his relationship with the Lord remained a guiding force throughout his life.

Alongside his faith was Jimmy’s passion for athletics and mentoring young people. For more than 20 years, he faithfully supported the athletic programs at Parkview Baptist, particularly the baseball and football teams. Through the years, he formed lasting relationships with countless players and coaches. Jimmy became a father figure and mentor to many, known for the encouragement, support, and friendship he offered so freely. His presence on the sidelines and around the ballfield meant far more than simply supporting a team; he genuinely invested in the lives of the young people he came to know.

Jimmy was also a longtime member of the Red Stick Model A Club. He greatly enjoyed the fellowship of the club and traveling with fellow members to showcase their beautiful Model A automobiles. It was another passion that brought Jimmy great enjoyment and many treasured friendships and memories throughout the years.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Ann Sanders Boles.

He is survived by his sister, Beverly Ryan (Jim), of Savannah, Georgia; many nieces and nephews; and other loving family members. Jimmy also shared a long and meaningful relationship with Mrs. Velma Pittman and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom he loved and cherished as family.

Jimmy will be remembered for his faith, generosity, loyalty, and the genuine interest he took in the lives of others. Whether through his church, his profession, at the ballfield, or traveling with his Model A, Jimmy made a lasting impact on those around him. He gave generously of his time, encouragement, and friendship, and his influence will continue through the family, friends, players, coaches, and countless others whose lives were made better by knowing him.

A memorial service will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70815, on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 11:30 a.m. until the service at 12:00 p.m. A burial will take place in Fairfax, South Carolina on September 25, 2026 at 1:00PM located at Fairfax cemetery.
