

“I’M PRAISING THE LORD!” JoAnn entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 13, 2016, at the age of 69. She was a 1964 graduate of Baton Rouge High School and earned her speech pathology degree from Northwestern State University. She was a retired teacher from Donaldsonville High School teaching up to three generations for over 25 years. She loved her students and encouraged them to achieve their goals. Survived by her brother, E. Alva Edwards of Baton Rouge; sister, Betty E. Martrain and husband Rick Martrain of Denham Springs; sister in law, Donna Cable Edwards of Fort Smith, Ark; life long friends, Teddy and Tammy Lambert of Orange, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved and adored. Awaiting her in eternity are her parents, George Burr Edwards Sr. and Josephine Friedrichs Edwards; brothers, George B. Edwards Jr. and Perry Conrad Edwards; sister, Barbara Ann Edwards Smith. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Friday, June 17, 2016, from 12 PM until funeral service at 2 PM. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
