I came to know Joann through our mutual friend Karin Eller. Though we only knew each other the last ten years or so, I came to love the Southern charm of this truly Southern lady. With my Texas drawl and her Louisiana accent, we had many good laughs and good times together when Karin and I would meet her in Shreveport every couple of years for a fun weekend of laughs, good food and good times.  I will miss this dear and giving friend.

I am so blessed that Jo Ann was my friend through the long, hot Delta days and nights as we left our  childhoods behind and became young women.  We made a code to signal to each other from our bedroom windows.  We stayed up all night and cooked fudge.  We sewed matching outfits for the first day of junior high school.
