Joanny Hawayek Ducote passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 19th, 2013 at the age of 92. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Preceded in death by her father, Elias Hawayek of Beirut, Lebanon and her mother Augustina Rodriguez Hawayek of Oviedo, Spain, three sisters, Maria Simmons, Margarita Moll, Evelyn Hawayek Pickens, a brother Alberto Hawayek and her spouse, Bert A. Ducote of Simmesport, La. She is survived by siblings Manolo Hawayek of San Juan, Puerto Rico and Rose Caballero of New Orleans, LA., two sons Albert Joseph Roman and Bert A. Ducote II, one daughter, Monique Penfield Ducote, eight grandchildren, Danielle Roman, Albert Roman Jr., Christopher Roman, Sean Ducote, Julia Ducote, Chelsea Penfield, Shelby Penfield and Ashley Penfield. There will be a private burial service and a private mass at a later date.
