Joe Tyler

Joe Tyler, age 84, native of Lake Charles, LA, and resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on April 27, 2026. In his younger years, Joe loved hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, and playing with his grandchildren. In more recent years, he enjoyed playing cards with his friends at Williamsburg Assisted Living.

Joe is survived by his children, Carolyn Tyler Reed, Andy Tyler (Jackie), and Sandy Tyler Fambrough (John); grandchildren, Joshua Hitt, Christopher Reed (Katelyn), Brandon Tyler, Lauren Reed, and Matthew Tyler; and his very dear friend and neighbor of over 40 years, Pat Prince. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Mary; his parents, Joe Sr. and Minnie Tyler; sisters, Betty Rosteet and Ann Tyler; and his son-in-law, Dan Reed.

A visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70815, on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 10 am until funeral service at 11 am. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. The family would like to thank The Crossing-Clarity Hospice for their care and support.
