Joel Reech was born on June 19, 1963 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was a graduate of Baton Rouge High and Southeastern University. He was a man of many talents and a jack of all trades. His passion was horticulture services, and he worked in pest control. He never met a stranger, he helped anyone in need, and he always had a tidbit to share. The cornerstones of his life were his family, friends, and later in life, Jesus. He was an amazing cook, lover of music, talented gardner, outdoorsman, dogfather, Sunday hostess with the mostess, and LSU fan. There was no project that was too weird or hard for him. He spent much of his time in St. Francisville enjoying the outdoors. He had a questionable fashion sense, was known as Uncle Troll, and was unabashedly authentic. His favorite people called him PopPop. He made time for everyone, and he was always present, including capturing every single moment on film.
Joel is survived by his caring and loving wife Mary Ann, his children, Scott and wife Rochelle, daughter Morgan, beloved grandkids Anya, Estelle, Val, and Vera. He is also survived by his brothers Greg and wife Donna, Michael, Chris and wife Emily, sister Rene’ (Ron), along with many loving nieces, and nephews.
Joel is preceded in death by his father, Elster Ray Reech, his mother Monaca Barcelona Reech, his brother Cory Neal Reech, and his nephew Timothy Daniel Reech.
