John Garett Bozant

Bozant, John Garett, DPM peacefully passed away March 16, 2013 surrounded by loved ones in his home in Baton Rouge, La. He will be lovingly remembered by his partner, Ronald Campagna. Fond memories will be cherished by his sisters Tara Talbot and husband Kenneth Talbot and Sherri Witt and husband Ron Witt. Uncle John will be remembered dearly by Kenneth Talbot, Jr, Carl Talbot and Wendy Campbell. Relaxing afternoons will be missed by his dear cousin, Zane Zeno. Heartily enjoying good times and standing together in bad will be remembered by his many friends including Paul Moret, William Bodin, Paul LeBlanc, Will Steele, Raymond Boudreau, Mark Furgeson, Floyd Desormeaux, Jack Logan, Thomas Bryant, Matt Harring, Lynn Setzer, Don Dubay, Rusty Downing, and Joseph Johnson. John Bozant was raised by his loving parents John T "Jay" Bozant and Barbara Bozant whom he now joins in eternal life. He also joins Harrison and Sybil Cavalier and Carl and Hazel Zeno, his loving grandparents, in death. John Bozant attended Catholic High graduating in 1982. In 1986 he earned his BS from LSU and a BA in 1988. A man of quiet strength and dedication to purpose, he chose the path of healer and became a doctor of podiatry, graduating from the University of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines Iowa in 1993. He practiced podiatry locally with Ochsner Clinic and was well loved by his patients. Never settling in what he had already learned, he also spent much of his time in the pursuit of History, Naturopathic medicine, and politics. Since July of 2012, after being diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer, John fought with every ounce of determination and strength he exhibited in his previous pursuits. He never failed to take opportunity to connect with his loved ones during this time, always striving to make every moment count. John's constancy, strength, wisdom, and gentle humor will be dearly missed by all he touched. Please join us for visitation at Greenoaks Funeral home at 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, La 70815 on Friday March 22, 2013 and for a prayer service and burial at the same location beginning at 2pm on Saturday March 23, 2013.
