An avid fisherman and LSU fan passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2013, at the age of 52. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and served the Baton Rouge area as a mechanic for over 30 years. Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church on Thursday, September 19, 2013, from 9 AM until funeral mass at 10:30 AM. He is survived by his father, Paul Eberly; two sisters, Cynthia Hanson and husband, Philip, and Joyce Bellot and husband, John; one brother, Dr. Charles Eberly and wife, Ramona; five nieces and nephews, Jamie and Andrea Azhar, Alison Hanson, and Alex and Nicholas Eberly; and his best friend, Bubba Ashley. He is preceded in death by his mother, Anne Eberly. John was a gentle soul who was always willing to lend a helping hand to his family and friends. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
