A retired industrial engineer for the state of Louisiana, he passed away at Ollie Steele Burden Manor on Tuesday morning, June 23, 2009, at age 74. A resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Roanoke, Va., he was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He received undergraduate and master's degrees in industrial engineering from Virginia Tech. He is survived by his wife, Caroline Flint, M.D.; a daughter, Colleen Jackson; two sons, Tim and Mark Jackson; two sisters, Suzanne Taylor and Bonnie Theroux; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Francis Jackson; and two granddaughters, Ann and Lisa. Services will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church on Friday, June 26, at 4 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Tim Heflin. A reception will follow at the church hall after the services from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Interment will be at a later date in Roanoke.
