John Ernest McBrayer Jr.

John McBrayer Jr., 83, a native of Arkadelphia, Ark. and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA and most recently Gonzales, LA passed away on Monday, May 6, 2013. A 34-year officer in the U.S. Navy, John and his family traveled all over the world. A professional photographer at one time, John was employed with Kadair's and Southern Camera prior to his retirement. He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Peggy Burkes McBrayer; son Jeffrey McBrayer and wife Debbie; grandchildren: Cassandra Bishop, Katherine, Nathan, Melissa, and Jessica McBrayer, Jennifer Ocmand, Krista James, and Brandy Hollingsworth; 14 great grandchildren; siblings: David McBrayer and wife Mary Helen, Nancy Green and husband Tony; and three nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, John, Sr. and Dorothy McBrayer; son, John Douglas McBrayer; and brother, James Bruce McBrayer. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Graveside service on Friday, May 10, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in Louisiana National Cemetery located at 303 W.
