John J. Nicosia, Sr., age 89, passed away on Friday February 6, 2026, in Baton Rouge, LA. Loving husband of the late Josephine Nicosia for over 56 years. John was the devoted father of Michael Nicosia (Rissa) and the late John Nicosia, Jr. Grandfather, to Shauna (Brandon), Shelley (Jeb), Jonathan (Madison), Jennifer (Joe), Ashleigh (Andrew) and Alexander (Avery). Great grandfather to Liam, Nathan, Amelia, Johnny Bryce, Maverick and Kai.
Preceded in death by his parents; the late Pauline Levatina Nicosia and Frank Nicosia; and many brothers and one sister.
After retiring from his electrical Business, John spent his spare time fishing and loved socializing with anyone and everyone he came across.
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA. on Saturday, February 14th, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time. Burial will take place in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
