
John David Odom, Sr., born July 29, 1926, a native of Oak Grove, LA and a long-time resident of Central, LA, passed away Friday, June 2, 2017, at the age of 90. He retired from Kaiser Aluminum as a maintenance superintendent on September, 1, 1982. He served in the US Navy during WWII aboard the US Indianapolis. John is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Meryal Day Hudson Odom; his son, John D. Odom, Jr. and wife, Tammy Blouin Odom; a step-daughter, Kathy H. Daigle; a step-son, Donald “Skip” Hudson and wife, “Babs”; numerous grandchildren; four step-granddaughters; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, Issac and Hester Odom; his first wife, Barbara Pino Odom; his son, Jimmy Odom; three brothers, Joe Ben, Robert and George Odom; four half-brothers and three half-sisters. Pall bearers will be Cody Odom, Sean Odom, Kevin Odom, Easton Holmes, Logan Holmes, Drew Brady, Cody Forbes, Eli Brady and T.J. Odom. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, from 10:00AM until the time of funeral services at 2:00PM.
