
John Eric Strenski, a loving son, special nephew and uncle, and a faithful friend, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 31, 2008. He was born in Savannah, Ga., on Dec. 29, 1969, and was a resident of Baton Rouge since 1976. He was a graduate of St. Aloysius Catholic School, Catholic High School and the University of Virginia. He was a recipient of the Monsignor Bechnel Award at St. Aloysius. He is survived by his parents, Ted and Elaine Strenski, of Baton Rouge; brother and sister-in-law, Philip and Jennifer Strenski, of Yorktown Heights, N.Y.; sister and brother-in-law, Jeannie and Rafael Bustillo, of Denver; three nieces, Brittany, Kristen and Lauren Bustillo; an aunt, Margaret Smith; cousins, Wendy, Karen and Steve, Scott, Janet, Susan, Kim, Nina and Joe; and by his many wonderful friends at Perks, Chelsea's and the Tuesday Night Poker Crew. Visitation will be at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2025 Stuart Ave., on Tuesday, Aug. 5, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Gerald Burns. Pallbearers will be Dean Harrison, Drew Hart, Peter Barrell, Mark Suchanek, Marty Vicknair and David Remmeter. Honorary pallbearers are David Butt, Jim Johnson, Danny Plaisance, Brian Biamonte, August Rowland, Lemmie Dickerson, David Welch, David Cano, Jan Bennett, Kate Suchanek, Cathy Zielinski Butt, Darlene Rowland and Leanne McClurg.
