Evans Trotter a native of Baton Rouge and resident of Erwinville was called to heaven on July 6. Born on July 30, 1980 he graduated from Gables Academy and Baton Rouge Community College. He was an employee of Sparkhound. He was a volunteer fireman at the St. Gabriel and Port Allen Fire Departments. J.J. is survived by son Zachary; fiancée, Jamie Templet; father and mother, Bill and Lorry Trotter; brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Kim Lee, sisters and brothers-in-law, Dana and Rickie Robertson, Christie and Duke Williams; grandmothers, Virginia Simmons and Katy Trotter; and 6 nieces and nephews, Nicholas, Clayton, Rachel, Sasha, Jordan and Malia. He was preceded in death by sister, Jessica Lee; maternal grandparents William Simmons, Carmen Simmons and Ethel Evans; paternal grandparent, William Trotter. A wake will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Monday, July 9 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. followed by visitation on Tuesday, July 10 from 12:00 p.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers include Rickie Robertson, Duke Williams, Brett Cormier, Trevor Cormier, David Templet, B.J. Tesch, Rex McMullan and Chris Mezat. Honorary pallbearers are Jeremy Courtade and Thad Hawkins. The family would like to express their thanks to the doctors and staff of Ochsner's Cardiac Care Unit in New Orleans for their care and compassion.
