John E. Weaver passed away Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the age of 96. He was a native and lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, LA. Dad was drafted into the Navy and served in the Korean War where he became an Ariel Photographer. He married Cherry Unbehagen and had two girls, Wendy and Terre. Dad was employed by Boating Inc., Coopers Marine, and Plaquemine Marine, where he managed the parts department. Upon retirement, he went back to taking pictures again. You could see him in his boat on our rivers and swamps taking beautiful pictures of our local birds, reptiles and flowers. He also had a talent for woodworking, rebuilding pontoon boats and fishing. He loved his family and was always with us. John is survived by his girls, Wendy Minton (Keith) and Terre Powers (Michael); grandchildren, Taylor and Hannah Powers; and brother, Jay Townsend Weaver. A graveside service will be at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 1pm. Burial will immediately follow.
