John Hart Woodruff, 62, a native of Binghamton, N.Y., passed away Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, at his home in Baton Rouge. He was a retired security officer and U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Friday, Sept. 23, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park. He is survived by friends, Velma and Buddy Lawrence; and many close friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walker V. and Mary Chinton Woodruff; and forever-loving companion, Hazel Lavene Lawrence.
