Johree Edgerton

Johree Edgerton went to be with the Lord, Thursday, September 11, 2014. She was 85, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Carriere, Mississippi. Johree graduated from Pearl River Junior College & Southeastern, certified to teach Kindergarten, Elementary & Special Education. Later she graduated from LSU earning degrees as a Reading Resource Specialist and Media Specialist. She touched the lives of many students throughout her years of teaching in West & East Feliciana & East Baton Rouge Parishes. Johree was full of love & life and enjoyed hosting parties, square dancing, ballroom dancing, quilting, singing, crocheting, writing & reading. Her real passion was traveling. She and husband, Mickey, traveled full-time in their motorhome for thirteen years. Johree often said she should have traveled first and then taught first-hand about all the places she saw & experienced on their journeys. She was a past worthy grand matron of the Order of the Eastern Star & a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church. Johree is survived by her three sons, Michael David Saint (Donna); Donald William Saint (Shirley); Sidney Douglas Saint (Yuki); daughter, Nancy Ella Saint Stott (William); half-brother, David Stockstill; and step-son, Edwin Thomas Edgerton (Michelle). Her grand and great-grands knew her as "Mur". She was blessed to have eleven grandchildren: D.D. Saint(Albert)Rivera; Travis(Becky)Saint; David(Heidi)Saint; Jennifer Saint(Jeremy)Barker; Denise Saint; Aaron Saint; William(Katherine)Saint; Dana Saint(Josh)Trahan; Katie Stott(Alan)Eaves; D'Anna Saint(Mike)Durkin; Sarah Stott(Whitney IV)Geter. Six step-grandchildren: Hank(Kathy)Ogden; Jessica Edgerton (Jose')Morfin; Jonathan(Katy)Edgerton; Amy Edgerton(Benjamin)Garcia; Mark Edgerton & Rachel Edgerton. Twenty-four Great-Grandchildren: Addison, Alston & Ashton Rivera; Abby & Haden Saint; Skylar & Chance Rodenkirch; Kirsten Saint, Kaimen & Kayzleigh Faciane, Killian Trahan; Breanna Durkin; Gia Saint; Sydney & Jeffrey Barker; Madeleine, Juliana, David & Abigail Saint; Jacob, Caleb & Elizabeth Eaves; Levi Geter; and Marlee (Jace) Lyons. Eight Step-Great-Grandchildren: Sylvia, Marie & Joseph Morfin; Skyla Edgerton; and Judah, Rachel, Levi & Simeon Garcia. Johree was preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice Spiers Stockstill & father, Guy Earl Stockstill; foster parents, William & Ella Spiers; first husband, David Saint; husband, Clarence Eugene "Mickey" Edgerton; half-sister, Guynell Stockstill Brown; grandson, William Maloy Stott; and great-grandson, William Feig Saint. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, Sunday, September 14, from 5-8 pm and Monday, September 15 from 9 am until services at 10 am. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. According to the wishes of Johree, her son-in-law, William (Bill) Stott will conduct the service. Pallbearers will be: Albert Rivera, Travis Saint, David Saint, Jeremy Barker, Aaron Saint, William Saint, Josh Trahan, Alan Eaves, Mike Durkin, Whitney Geter, IV and Addison Rivera. Honorary pallbearers: Hank Ogden, Jonathan & Mark Edgerton.
