He had a heart of gold. God took him to be with Him in heaven. We all will remember the million times he told everyone how much he loved us. Rhett was a precious son, brother, nephew and grandson. Everyday he wore Wrangler T-shirts with Scripture verses and on the day he passed away the verse on his shirt was, "I put my trust in thee." Psalm 16:1. Rhett died on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, as the result of an accident at home. He was 15 and an eighth-grader at Carney Christian Academy. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., was on Monday, Nov. 5, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes on Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Zachary, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 10:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Jeff Bayhi. Music provided by Brent Honore. Interment in Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. He is survived by his parents, Buzz and Susan Morris; a sister, Ashley Morris; maternal grandparents, Nanny Pat and Paw Paw Wayne Stroughter; and paternal grandmother, Ruth Morris. Preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, James V. Morris Jr.; and great-grandmother, Lillie Langlois. Pallbearers will be Chris Ebert, Ben Cole, Matthew Rojas, Brock Norwood, Andrew Bennett, Victor Penton, Mike McDonald, Shane Norwood and Jay Kelly. Honorary pallbearers are William and Stewart Hicks. Many thanks to the Harvey Honore family for their prayers, love and support. Rhett enjoyed working at Mr. Honore's ranch after school with his mother, Susan. Special thanks to Mr. Gerry Lane and Mrs. Faye, the Bennett's, the Norwood's, the Penton's and the rest of our many friends and family. You all mean so much to us.
