A master carpenter and artist of his trade, he passed away Friday, Aug. 19, 2011. He was 74, a longtime resident of Baton Rouge and native of Lakeland. Visiting at St. Agnes Catholic Church on Wednesday, Aug. 24, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with recitation of the rosary at 10 a.m. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Ramona Chaisson Porche; two children, Joseph C. Porche Jr. and companion Georgia Harris, and Trina Porche Fleury and husband Sean Fleury; three sisters, Mary Christine Porche Domingue and husband Marious Domingue Sr., Vera Porche Mathis and Darlene Porche Hamilton; six grandchildren, Amanda Porche Vizina and husband James Vizina, Ashley Porche, Austin Porche, Shelby Fleury, Shay Fleury and Shore Fleury; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Preceded in death by his father and mother, Clifford L. Porche Sr. and Mary Della Patin Porche; and brother, Clifford "Pee Wee" Porche Jr. He was a devoted Catholic and lifelong member of St. Agnes Catholic Church.
