Joseph Paul Dileo, Sr., passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at the age of 87. He was born in Independence, LA, on September 5, 1939, and was a resident of Greenwell Springs, LA. Joe earned his banking credentials and utilized them for over 20 years with the same company. After retiring from the banking industry, he obtained Hahn Sales/Enstocko, where he provided electrical instrumentation for plants in the Baton Rouge and surrounding areas. Joe enjoyed cooking/grilling, coaching, and spent countless hours on the party barge on the Amite River. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family. Joe is survived by his children, Philomena Greenblatt (Glenn), Tonya Entremont (Chuck), and Dr. Joseph Dileo, Jr. (Lana); grandchildren, Taylor Greenblatt (Nicole), Christian Greenblatt, Blakeli Entremont (JT Blair), Blair Entremont, Madison, Liam, and Luca Dileo; brother, Vince Dileo (Joyce); and a host of other family members. Joe is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Rose Ann Dileo; and his parents, Santo and Mary Dileo.
Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 3:30pm until 7pm. The rosary will be recited at 6:30pm. Visitation will resume at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 14040 Greenwell Springs Rd., Greenwell Springs, LA, on Monday, September 21, 2026, from 9am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. The pallbearers will be Dr. Joseph Dileo Junior, Chuck Entremont, Glenn, Taylor, and Christian Greenblatt, and Vince Dileo, Sr. We would like to thank the wonderful hospice nurses, Haley and Jennifer.
