Joseph Albert Samson, III passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the age of 89. He was a native of Baton Rouge, LA, and a resident of Denham Springs, LA. Joe served in the Marines during the Korean War. He loved going camping across the country with his wife and meeting new people. Joe enjoyed campfire music, fishing and playing golf, but above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family. Joe is survived by his wife of 70 years, Sylvia; children, Kim Hebert, Robin Melancon, Janet Haynes (Daryl), Donna Craddock (Brad), and Joey Samson; grandchildren, Mindy (Kelly), Kelly (Craig), Lindsay (Brad), Adam (Nikki), Casey (Ryan), Aimee (Joey), Kevin (Angela), Heather (Mike), Courtney, Jacob (Heather), Jeff (Emily), Joseph, Dallas (Brooklyn), and Brianna (Warren); and 31 great-grandchildren. Joe is preceded in death by his daughter, Joi Ellen Samson Watts; grandson, Bruce Melancon; granddaughter, Brittany Melker; and parents, Joseph Albert Samson, Jr. and Annette Samson. Visitation will be at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church, 14040 Greenwell Springs Rd. Greenwell Springs, LA, on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 12pm until the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30pm.
