

Joseph Edwin Thompson was born on May 25, 1932 in Centreville, MS, and passed away at 9:50pm on December 23, 2012 at The Carpenter House. He was a native of Woodville, MS. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Denham Springs and a former member of Zoar Baptist Church for 40years. He retired from Sunbeam Bakery where he drove an 18 wheeler for 35 years and was a Union Steward and Teamster for Local 5. He served 6 years in the U S Air Force. He is survived by his wife, “Seetsie” Reese Spillman with whom they’d just celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary aboard a cruise ship to the Caribbean. He is survived by two daughters; Debbie Reid and husband Randy, and Sherri Belello and husband Dwayne;three granddaughters, Kellie Syfert and husband Mitch, Randi Reid and Savanah Holcomb, and first great grandchild, Chrisitian Reese Holcomb due to arrive in April 2013; stepson Darrel R Spillman; son in law, Tony Davis, step grandaughters, Stefannie Jarreau, Sarah Richard, Toni Davis and Heather Spillman; step grandson, Jeremy Spillman; step great granddaughters, Alyssa and Bella Roberie and great grandson, Jaxon Richard. He is preceded in death by 1st wife, Frances Pritchard Thompson, mother and father, Joseph C and Myrtis Ogden Thompson of Woodville, MS; father and mother in law, Lawrence Arlin and Rena Pritchard; step daughter Sharon Spillman Davis and step great grandson Gaige Roberie. He will be remembered by the love of his life, “His Sweetie”, his family and his many friends. He was always so happy and will also be remembered for his many funny stories, Bible and history lessons, and making everyone laugh. Visitation will be held on December 26, 2012 at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd from 5pm to 9pm, and on Thursday December 27, 2012 from 11am until service time and 12:00pm and will be officiated by Brother Leo Miller of First Baptist Church of Denham Springs and Rev T W Terral. Burial will take place in the Zoar Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dwayne Belello, Tony Davis, Kris Bondeson, Chuck Walters, Terry Walker, and Dick Latimer, honorary pallbearer, Randy Reid.
