Josh was a person that would inspire others. His gymnastics career was remarkable. Each day in the gym with him was exciting and fun. Great athlete and loved to joke around.  He is already missed by so many in the gymnastics community.

It was wonderful for many of Josh’s friends to attend the services today. While viewing the collage of pics, a couple of friends pointed to pics “I was there”! Thank you 😊

Josh’s eulogy (Part Two):

Josh also loved adventure. He loved snowboarding, riding motorcycles way too fast, a Burning Man camping event, or just riding bikes around town. Josh never met a stranger and was almost always first to introduce himself. 

Josh was my dedicated wing man for a few years when he lived in Dallas. Neither of us knowing a lot of people, Josh was always up for getting out and doing something social. We rode bikes with social bike ride groups together and there met many people who have become life long friends. Very rarely do I bump into friends in Dallas today without them asking about how Josh is doing. I hated to see Josh leave Dallas for Baton Rouge but I knew it was the best thing at the time. 

The holidays are coming up and Josh was always such a driving force in our celebrations. This year is going to be so hard as I can’t image the holidays without my brother. He means the world to me and I can’t express how much I love him and will miss him. I don’t know how Dad, Jacob and myself are going to get through the holidays but I know that Josh and my Mom will be together celebrating and chatting away as they always did. 
Josh I love you so much, will miss you more than words can express, and hate that you won’t be there as Jacob and I get older. There is this meme that Josh always loved and it rings so true now. Josh you will always be the Man now Dog.

Josh’s eulogy (Part One):

My brother Josh was always my go to guy. Whether it was trying a new stunt as kids to make sure that it wouldn’t hurt to making sure everyone was invited over for the holidays. Josh had an infectious spirit that invited you to get involved in something that you never would normally. I have sang in karaoke bars and seen bands I never would because Josh made it sound like the best thing you could ever do.  If you ever hung out with him I’m sure you have had the same experience. 
Josh had an amazing voice, a dedication to things he loved, and an acceptance of people that we all should appreciate. 

Josh was a gymnast since he could walk. As kids we use to drag the mattresses down the stairs when my parents were out and practice doing backflips, front flips, and not putting holes in the walls. Jacob and I thought it was fun and cool but Josh loved it. He dedicated himself to the art and kept up with the competitions until his last days. He didn’t just appreciate the sport, he excelled at it. He went as far as getting 1st place All Around in the Texas state Gymnastics Championship in his Junior year of high school and did even better his senior year, getting 1st at Nationals in vault and 3rd in All Around. 

Beyond gymnastics Josh’s other love was music. He started later in life than most and I was flummoxed when he said he was going to join choir in college. I don’t think he had been in choir previously. If I had doubt about his ability to sing it only took hearing him sing at the Cats Meow on Bourbon St to become convinced that he had made the right choice. He had an amazing voice.
