Julia Colleen Cassidy Ferry

"Julia Colleen ("Colleen") Ferry, died on Monday, April 2, 2018. She was 81 and a resident of the Pearl at Jamestown in Baton Rouge. The family is so grateful for the loving care she received there. She was the beloved wife of John Burg Ferry who preceded her in death. The daughter of Carl Louis Cassidy and Julia Heck Cassidy, she was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana and raised in Crowley, Louisiana. She received her Master's Degree in Fine Arts from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and was a member of Delta Delta Delta fraternity. She was an active member of the community in both Houma and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and in her children and grandchildren's lives. Over the years, she taught many children the love of art both in private lessons and at Vandebilt Catholic High School. She was a parishioner, Eucharistic minister, and member of the choir of St. Thomas More church in Baton Rouge. She is survived by her daughter, Colleen Ferry Peroyea and her husband Joseph Gregory Peroyea, her daughter Stephanie Ferry, and two grandchildren, Elizabeth M. Peroyea, and John M. Hardy. She is also survived by her sister, Sophie Cassidy Gibson. Services will be held on Friday April 13, 2018, at St. George Catholic Church in Baton Rouge with visitation at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
