
A homemaker and native of Independence, she died at her home in Walker on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011. She was 86. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Friday, Feb. 25, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visiting will resume at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 865 Hatchell Lane, Denham Springs, on Saturday, Feb. 26, from 10:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at noon, celebrated by the Rev. Paul Yi. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and Roy Chandler; son and daughter-in-law, Duane and Donna Guy; grandchildren, Tammy Chandler, Donny Chandler and wife Stacy, Kevin Chandler and wife Amber, Reachel Guy and Thomas "TJ" Guy; two sisters, Daisy Cooper and Mildred Bryant; and five great-grandchildren. Julia was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alice Basso Garon; husband, Thomas J. Guy Jr.; sisters, Cloutile Fabre, Ida Leonard, Eva Leonard, Udell Fontana, Rosa Lee Strait and Ethel Garfola; and brothers, Frank and Domonic Garon. Pallbearers will be Thomas "TJ" Guy, Donny and Kevin Chandler, Junior and Johnny Garfola and Danny "Buzzard" Sandifer. Special thanks to Prime Care Services and Generations Hospice and all of the special angels we had in helping take care of our sweet mother; we are so grateful. The love and comfort you gave in time of need doesn't go unnoticed. Special thanks to her special angel and caregiver, Janice. You are amazing and loved by us all - thank you.
