A longtime resident of Baton Rouge, she passed away unexpectedly at the home she shared with her devoted husband, Jimmie L. Loesch, on Thursday, March 3, 2011. She and Jim had been married 42 years. Julie was born April 10, 1948, in Dallas. Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, David Allan Loesch and wife Franni, of Carencro; and two grandchildren, Julian and Jade, both of Carencro. She is also survived by her father, Julian B. Honeycutt, and stepmother, Carolyn, of Baton Rouge; sister, Katherine H. Graybill and husband Art, of Marrero; and brother, J. David Honeycutt and wife Stephanie, of Baton Rouge. Julie was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Ann; and a brother, George. Julie began school in Ames, Iowa, but finished at Broadmoor High School in Baton Rouge. Because of her interest in marine shells, she received her B.S. degree in marine biology at LSU and worked for many years as the head technician of the Immunology Department of the National Hansen's Disease Laboratory at both Carville and Baton Rouge. A memorial service for Julie will be held at Broadmoor United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge on Sunday, March 13, with visiting from 2 p.m. until services at 3 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Ken Carroll. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Broadmoor United Methodist Church or a charity of your choosing.
