A native and resident of Baton Rouge, Juliet was born November 27, 1918, and passed away at home on April 6th, 2023, at the age of 104. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, from 5PM to 7PM, Wednesday, April 19th. The service will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 8833 Goodwood Blvd, at 1PM, Thursday, April 20th. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, 4045 North St. She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Stewart Dougherty, Jr., her parents, Thomas John and Juliet Dorsey Noland Singletary, a brother and his wife, Thomas Puller, II, and Mitzi Burden Singletary, and a sister-in-law, Janice Davis Singletary. Juliet is survived by her children, Juliet D. Clayton, Mary Stewart D. Koontz and Malcolm Stewart Dougherty, III. She has 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Juliet is also survived by her brother Thomas Puller Singletary II's children and their families, and her brother John Noland Singletary, his children and their families. Juliet was a graduate of L.S.U. and had been active in the Episcopal Church, having served as president of the Women’s Auxiliary of Trinity Episcopal Church and taught Sunday School at St. James and Trinity Episcopal Churches. She served on the first school board of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and was a volunteer teacher at Brighton Academy. Juliet was a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames of America, the Junior Service League, The Baton Rouge Assembly, and various other social organizations. In lieu of flowers, those choosing to donate are requested to make donations to Hospice of Baton Rouge, St. Luke's Episcopal Church, or a charity of their choice. Juliet's children would like to take this opportunity to thank Ms. Augustine Anderson and Ms. Alana Lewis for their compassionate, patient, and loving care of their mother in her last years.
