A cherished wife, loving mother and spirited grandmother, June went to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 16, 2011. She was 83, a resident of Walker and a long-time member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Denham Springs. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Leonard "Pete" C. Verbois Sr.; four sons and two daughters-in-law, David Chopin, of Archer, Fla., Bruce and Lauren Chopin, of Concord, N.C., Kevin Chopin, of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Daryl and Kimberly Chopin, of Prairieville; as well as a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Betty Cure, of Belle Chasse. She is also survived by three stepchildren and their spouses, Leonard Jr. and Mitzi Verbois, of Denham Springs, David "Teedy" and Michelle LeJeune, of Brusly, and David and Michelle Verbois, of Central; in addition to 25 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Milton Earl Chopin; two siblings, Beverly Cure Dahl and Carl Cure Jr.; and a son, Shawn J. Chopin. A homemaker, June was an active member of United Commercial Travelers, Catholic Daughters, Friends of Saint Joseph, RCIA and American Legion auxiliary. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Monday, July 18, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Denham Springs on Tuesday, July 19, from 12:30 p.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 p.m. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. The family wishes to express its heartfelt thanks to her caregiver, Cathy Rossi, and those at Amedisys Hospice for their tenderness during her last days.
