K. Sinclair Dameron passed June 3, 2024, at the age of 75. Born Kenneth Sinclair Dameron on August 25, 1948, he was raised in Port Allen and spent the majority of his life in West Baton Rouge Parish. He graduated from Port Allen High School before serving in the United State Marine Corp for two years. After being honorably discharged, he then went on to graduate from Louisiana State University in 1975. He worked for Cargill, Borden, ABCL, and Duke Energy in industrial and logistics maintenance before retiring.
Sinclair loved his animals, changing his name legally to Kai Sinclair Dameron in honor of his beloved dog, Kai. Conveniently allowing him to continue to sign his name K. Sinclair Dameron.
Sinclair had a passion for history, art, gardening, and his pets. He often said that he lived in a museum. His home was full of antiques, family history and his own collection of art that he accumulated and crafted over the years. Many of his handmade pieces had a steam punk flair – all of it uniquely Sinclair.
Sinclair’s uniqueness did not stop there. He was a Master Skydiver who had over 3000 recorded jumps. He relished adventure and lived life to the fullest.
As he got older, he loved spending time with his grandson, Thomas, as well as growing many different kinds of plants and trees in his yard. His lawn is nothing less than a fairy tale botanical garden littered with hand-crafted art and numerous plants, along with countless trees in the pasture.
Sinclair is preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Lucy Dameron and is survived by his sister, Dora Jordan (Charles); son, John Dameron; grandson, Thomas Dameron; niece, Cathleen Sullivan and nephew Patrick Cavanaugh.
